Menopause Nutrition

Menopause brings significant hormonal changes that affect both body and mind. The decline in estrogen levels often leads to a slower metabolism, abdominal fat accumulation, mood swings, hot flashes, and impaired sleep quality. In addition, there is a natural increase in the risk of heart disease and a decrease in bone density (osteoporosis). Focused, science-based nutrition is a key tool for restoring hormonal balance, managing weight, and regaining control over your body.
In my personal nutritional counseling, we will work together on:
- Metabolic balance and weight management: Creating a personalized menu that supports metabolism and helps prevent weight gain, without extreme diets that weaken the body.
- Reducing symptoms and improving quality of life: Incorporating nutrients and foods that balance hot flashes, improve sleep quality, and support overall mood and energy.
- Maintaining heart and bone health: Enriching the diet with calcium, vitamin D, healthy fats, and antioxidants to protect the heart and bone density over time.
- Working with CBT tools and emotional eating: Dealing with changes in body image, managing eating triggered by fatigue, mood swings, or stress, and establishing a healthy, balanced relationship with food.
Menopause is not the end of a chapter, but the beginning of a new phase. With proper nutrition and an understanding of your body's changing needs, you can navigate this period with a sense of lightness, energy, and self-confidence.
