Senior Nutrition

The senior years bring natural physiological changes that directly affect our nutritional needs. A natural decline in appetite, changes in the senses of taste and smell, difficulty chewing, or changes in nutrient absorption in the digestive system – all of these can lead to general weakness, fatigue, and loss of muscle and bone mass. Proper and focused nutrition in older age is one of the most important and effective tools for maintaining vitality, energy, preventing disease, and preserving independence and a high quality of life.

In my personal nutritional counseling, we will focus on:

  1. Maintaining muscle and bone mass: Tailoring a menu rich in protein and essential nutrients (such as calcium and vitamin D) to prevent muscle wasting (sarcopenia) and osteoporosis.
  2. Coping with changes in appetite and the digestive system: Practical, easy-to-prepare, and delicious nutritional solutions to stimulate appetite and improve gut function.
  3. Balancing and preventing chronic conditions: Personalized dietary management of hypertension, cholesterol, diabetes, and other chronic conditions common at this age.
  4. Addressing behavioral and emotional aspects: Sensitive guidance based on CBT tools, adapted to lifestyle changes, eating alone, or emotional difficulties that affect eating habits.
